Default 2002 XJR transmission question

Gents,

I'm looking into gettting a 2002 XJR X308 in lengthened wheelbase version.

Can someone confirm the transmission used is a Mercedes-Benz W5A580 5G-Tronic, similar to the XKR, rather than a ZF 5HP24?

Many thanks in advance.

Default Transmissions

Correct, the R cars have the merc unit, the non-supercharged versions have the ZF crapbox.

Default VDP SC?

Pristine,

Not sure if there are any 'stretched' XJR's

A Supercharged Vanden Plas may fit the bill. !

I believe the drivetrain is substantially an XJR.

Let us know what you find!

"2002 XJR X308 in lengthened wheelbase version."

NO such car...XJR was not made in the "L" version, only made as the regular sized Jaguar.
The Jaguar XJ8L and the Jaguar VDP L (non supercharged) are the only models I think that were made longer, there is the Jaguar Sport it is a 3.2 v8 non SC, and the Jaguar VDP w/supercharge option, but I don't think these "SC" cars came in the "L" models...(just my two cents)....but to response to your question...yes the '98-'03 model Jags came w/merc trans...
