2003 VDP issues?
with my studies and research on the jag i now have, it seems like a lot of problems were fixed by the time the 2003 came around. in most threads, the 2003 seems to have escaped a lot of the problems that the 98-2002 have shared.
does this concur with anyone elses research?
my car now has 102,000 miles but its a great car, and im baby-ing it for future jaguar club shows and events ONLY.
i occasionally drive this car, and plan on winter storage in a climate controlled warehouse that specializes in housing of said vehicles (RV's, boats, cars, etc)
i do plan on fixing the fog light system SOON and checking all fluids and doing flushes etc....but ive noticed the 2003 doesnt come up a lot in jaguar repair and horror story conversations....
am i wrong in this or has jaguar "perfected the model" before they changed it in 2004?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, (I often am, and "they" often do) but wasn't the only change from 2002 to 2003 the all metal tensioners?
That being said, if I could have any year, it would be the 2003.

It's really perspective. the X308's have relatively few issues, and when corrected the car will give many miles of hassle free driving. Reading a forum can be scary because 98% of the posts are problems when in reality thousands of these cars are driving right now trouble-free. (three of them mine..)

My daughter's Jetta has been the bane of my existance since I bought it and VW's are supposed to be the reliable ones. My neighbor's Camry is about to be on it's second transmission... I could go on- bottom line is these cars are a tremendous value and really are as trouble free as most other cars of the same years.
