Last night my car attempted to take off on it's own. Luckily I had my foot firmly on the brake pedal. Has anyone else experienced this ? If yes, did you get it resolved? I am terrified to drive the car now. Your help will be greatly appreciated !

 

I had the same issue about a week ago after leaving the car on idle for about 2 hours but it went away after leaving it off for a day, check your floor mat it might be on the pedal

 

Thank you. My situation occurred while just starting to accelerate. I have had a more subtle version of this happening prior. This was like the pedal was pushed to the floor.I bought the car used 8 years ago and this just happened. Scary stuff ! I am going to list all the insane things as to the cars state now. Should be humorous but sad reading !

 

It was the same with my jaguar I was going under 5mph and Would quickly accelerate but it hasn't done it since then. As a side note i had a used throttle body that was installed by a repair place I shouldn't have taken it to (that would be story to tell).
