Default 2003 xjr brakes "R" package

I have the Brembo brakes with cross drilled rotors. My mechanic ordered Akebono ceramic brake pads for the front wheels. He says they don't fit. Apparently I need to order OES brand or original equipment from dealer - about $600 to $700. Akebono's AKEUR394A were the one' s ordered that don't fit. They were $100 US and $160 in Canada. Are there any options other than original equipment or the OES brand?

WHAT DOESNT FIT ABOUT THEM, I HAVE USED THEM BEFORE AND THEYRE A LITTLE THICKER, COMPOUND THAT WITH A THICKER PAD AND HE MAY HAVE ISSUES GETTING THE CALIPER OVER THE PAD/ROTOR COMBO

I called Akebono - rep said they don't make pads for the Brembo brake package. Still looking for an alternative. Did find the OES brand for "R" package for $460 Canadian. Any body know of cheaper alternatives? That said, I don't wants "cheap" brakes - I want ones that will perform.
