2010 XJ V8 supercharge Portfolio with 72000km.
When driving in trafic and you stop and get out its smells like something is overheating. ( hot water or burning oil) When driving and this happens the gearbox suddenly goes into limp mode, the car drives in 1 gear. When you stop turn it off and on again it resets and drives normal again. The heat gauge show normal and no overheating warning lights come on except for gearbox failure light. a Workshop that does auto boxes says they know this and the gearbox needs complete overhaul to be sure. Anything else that could cause this before I repair a gearbox and sit with the same problem?
