'99 XJ8 - Engine Coolant Low Warning

I have a '99 XJ8 and the Engine Coolant Warning light constantly appears.
In the past year when this light appeared the engine overheated leading w/ensuing smoke etc. Hoses were replaced and coolant replaced etc.
But the ECW still persists, the mechanic believes it maybe the sensor in the coolant tank is faulty.
Performance is not affected and I've not noticed any other issues i.e. leaks, smoke etc.
Does the coolant tank sensor analysis seem accurate to the group?

As long as the coolant level is FULL, then yes, I would go with the sensor. But when changing that sensor, be careful you don't break the little tangs that hold it to the reservoir. If you break one, you'll need the whole reservoir.
