Today I discovered the inner lens on my passenger side headlight has been busted (probably a rock?). The entire headlight assembly costs at least $300. I essentially just need the glass replaced. I found some parts stores that sell a "headlight lens," however there are no pictures. Is this part what I need? If so, does anyone have any tips for the install? Thanks, that is a great idea, however the lamp talked about in that post is no longer manufactured. Does anyone have another idea for an almost identical lens that could be used like in that post?

I still need to know if that part I was asking about will work. Anyone?

I ordered the same part from parts train. It is in fact the lens and the reflector in one unit. To me it looked exactly the same as the 300+ one I saw at the dealership. I fitted it myself and it looked exactly the same as the one I took off. I would buy this part with confidence

While you're at it, you may also do a search on this forum for headlight protectors..... there was a good discussion on those, and it seems for around 50~60USD you can get a kit for the XJ8 that was highly recommended by a few forum members here.

When you think about it, you have almost 700USD worth of headlights, so spending 50~60USD to preotect them seems like a good idea
