My son took our 99' out several times last month and came home to report it won't go into forward gear without rev'ing the engine and then it clunks into gear and drives mushy...goes into reverse ok. I cruised the threads and someone suggested dropping the trans oil pan and look for metal. Unfortunately, I found an assortment (picture attached). Is this terminal for this transmission? Can any repairs/replacement be done without removing the transmission? I would appreciate any and all help/suggestions...thanks, Tod Rankin.
