Aftermarket Warranty Help

You're better off just puting about $3-5K in a savings/money market account and paying for things out of pocket upon occurance. It is very hard to find a reputable company that will provide a bumper-to-bumper warranty on these vehicles when they are over 10yrs old.
It's 8 years old, not over 10 buddy.
I called an independent dealership in Texas that sells certified Jaguar cars and they said I would have to purchase the car from them to get it certified, any way to get a Jag dealership to certify it?

My bad, for some reason I was thinking it was a '97!? My VP is a '99 as well and I looked into warranties and found that either no one willwarranty the car if not purchased from them (as you have found) for obvious reasons, or in my case living in California, you can not purchase extended warranties other than from the dealer. Some places will provide you a warranty, but coverage is less than stellar and they are usually not directly insured = BAD. In my case, the only way to purchase awarranty from a reputable establishment is to tell themthe car is from out of state and use my vacation home address. The problem with that is obviously retrieving the mail. I could then later tell them that I have permanently moved to my Calif. residence and all would be good. It's too much of a hassel in my case, but if you live elsewhere, you may want to take a look at the companies refered toat this site: http://www.carbuyingtips.com/warranty.htm.
