air in ABS on 1999 XJR
I repaired the cold solder joints at the motor connection in the ABS control module in an attempt to resolve the traction and stability control fail indicators, the GPS light stayed off for about 10 miles then came back on again. Later that week I seem to have gotten air into the antilock braking system when I replaced a front caliper and the master cylinder. Have bled all four calipers with a pressure bleeder, with and without the engine running, also bled the traditional way with someone cycling the brake pedal as I open and closed the bleeders. No air comes out of the calipers but the brake pedal stays spongy. Have an ABS light on, so I can't get the antilock to trigger with the car up on jackstands running in drive spinning the rear wheels. My code reader only sees engine faults, I don't have access read ABS fault codes. Any ideas how to get the ABS solenoids to cycle when bleeding this system ? Or how get the air out?
Thank you,
Mike
