Default Air Bag/SRS Codes B1994 and B2432

B1994 - Left air bad deployment control circuit open
B2432 - Driver's seat belt buckle switch circuit open

From my research, could be issue with wiring in seat buckle and/or single point sensor behind B pillar. Does anyone know if a problem with one could cause both codes to be thrown?

I personally don't know, but your presumption does seem plausible. The listed repair determination seems to revolve around the same issue....wiring. Whether is be from the switch or wear at a pivot point. Much like you found out when you fixed your knock sensor connector. Ahhhh, the beauty of 18 yr old wiring...part of the reason I'm removing/replacing the engine wiring from my 37 yr old Corvette.

What causes the B1994 code?

Common causes of a B1994 trouble code include loose, faulty, or otherwise damaged wiring, connectors, and other components. Other causes of this trouble code include loose or corroded battery cable connectors, a bad battery, and faulty air bag components and a problem with the ground wire.

B2432 Possible Causes

  • Faulty Drivers Seat Belt Buckle Switch
  • Drivers Seat Belt Buckle Switch harness is open or shorted
  • Drivers Seat Belt Buckle Switch circuit poor electrical connection
How is the B2432 code repaired?Start by checking the "Possible Causes" listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector's pins.

Default Update

Seat belt buckle tested and has connectivity when buckel in. Could possibly be problem further up wiring.
Scan tool live data reads "left deployment control resitance - 1 ohm." All other SRS related resistance values are 3 ohms so I'm assuming the correct left deployment control resitance should be 3 ohms. Since it's lower than should be I don't think bad connection.
Repair manual and electrical manual don't give much guidance.
I don't like throwing parts at a problem. Any ideas on what to try replacing first? Sensor in B-pillar? Air bag in driver's seat?
