my alarm and fob has been working fine however this morning i unlocked the car as usual with the key fob and with no problems. when i tried locking the car with it once at work it made a loud beep outside and did not lock...each time i press the button it just beeps. i can lock the car with the key but cannot unlock or lock it now with the fob. i thought it could be a battery however it does the same with my other fob. any ideas what this could be or how to fix it?

 

solved it...just jiggles the key ignition a bit and then it began to work

 

The ignition keyway door is hanging open, the car thinks the ignition still has a key in it so it won't let you use the fob to lock the car. A little light lubricant would be in order. Squirt a few drops into the keyway and then run the key in and out a few times.

That beep noise is the mis-lock tone - it reports that either a door is open, the trunk is open, or the key is in the ignition.
