My 1998 XJ8, has a great radio, but I was getting no reception, AM or FM. And when I found the antenna was unattached from the cable, I reattached. Voila! FM service restored, but not AM. Is there a different AM antenna, or did I not reattached it correctly?

 

Make sure the Little groundlead is attached on the antenna unit in the back, as well as on the radio in the front, make sure that the antenna extends all four sections.


Here in Sweden there is no active AM stations left, only FM. It is not until after abbout 8pm in the evening, when the jonosphere moves to higher altitude, we get good reception, usually German and Russian channels..
