Bad fishtail
I'd blame the tires but this is my second autocross event with them and I did not have the problem before. Only change since then is spark plugs and I ran with 1/4 tank of gas rather than full.
No issue with traction turned on.
I was basically going 90 degrees back and forth any time I gave throttle on a turn.
First thought is alignment. second is stiffer suspension.
Other ideas?

Other ideas?
-use less throttle (sometimes less is more in autocross/slalom events)
-use the trac control (it isn't a sin)
-run with more gas in the tank (hey, it worked better with more fuel, right?)
Cheers

You can see it step out on me at about 14:55. I fought it all day and had to be very ginger with the throttle w/o traction control. Admittedly, my driving skills needed work at the time and the wheel work was sloppy:
In comparison, my '99 M3 track car which is stock with a Bilstein PSS9 suspension is very neutral w/o traction control.
How much experience do you have? Any formal high performance driver training? The reason I'm asking is not to be insulting, it's just that people without training/practice don't realize just how smooth inputs have to be to get the most out of the car. The more power the car has, the harder it is. 99% of the time it's not the car, but the driver.
If the car feels absolutely fine on the street, then it also not likely to be a car issue. Even if the tires are going away, all that should happen is your times would be longer. How were you hitting the throttle? Where were you looking?

Well, all things considered, I didn't do as bad as I thought. .6 seconds out of second place in my class. There were a ton of people within a 2 second difference in other classes.
If I could keep it together I would be doing alright.

You might experiment a little with tire pressure too. What tires are you running? I've got Michelin Pilot Super Sports 255 40 18 and I love them for their stickiness on off ramps and on ramps. No need to slow down!
