Battery Not Charging warning light
I have a 01 XJ8. the subject warning light came on and 15 minutes later, i lost power steering, and got a "PECUS" warning as well. I made it home but when I tried to start it , it would not crank. I waited 15 minutes and started it but that light is still on. Is this an alternator problem, it so do I also need to purchase a new battery?

If the battery is old, I would start there. Although we do replace alternators, they are very rare to go bad.
I say replace battery first. Make sure it is correct for vehicle.
