Yesterday I replaced the center air vent on my 98 XJ8. As you know, I had to remove the middle panel, and the airbag cover. Everything went well....or so it seemed. Now when I start the car, there are a series of 5 beeps, five times, then it stops. No warning lights, and the car runs perfectly. Does anyone have an idea as to what this means?

 

I wonder if it may be a climate control error message. If you see a pdf below open it for instructions.

 

I think that's it! The PDF was there so I opened it and followed procedure. I had 3 error codes, of which one was possible low refrigerant. I am going to have the system charged tomorrow. Not sure about the other, but they don't sound serious and the A/C is working fine. Wonder what i did when I replaced the middle air vent to trigger this? Never heard of it before. Thank you SO much!
