Best Product/Method to condition leather??
I'd like to take better care of the leather (seats) in my 99 XJ8. They're still very nice but could be a little softer, but I've never done it before.
What are you all using to keep Jag leather soft, and how do you do it???

First of all i wacuum the whole interior really meticulously with special attention to folds/seams in the seats.
Then i wipe all interior surfaces down with a new wettex and fresh water. I am really trying to NOT use any kind of wierd chemicals what so ever.
My opinion is, that if you have an expensive, nice leather interior in your car, its suppose to smell nice from leather, not a parfumery or a whorehouse when you enter it.
Second i do it all again but this time i add maybe one or two drops of hand dishwash soap in a bucket of water (preferrebly destilled water) and with a soft sponge and the wettex do it all one more time..
Depending of how dirty the interior are, you might have to do it even one more time.. i promise, the water goes dark brown..
Mild soap, water and maybe carfully with a brush in order do deal with spots.. atleast to begin with.
With the leather still a bit moist i use a good, colourless, no smell, leather treatment oil. Here in sweden i usually buy an oil that is called "Ekol Oil" witch the "horsepeople" use to oil in their leather things, but ofcourse there is a bunch of different brands that claims this and that.. but remember, keep it simple.. its leather that is going to be treated, not an astrotronauts spacesuit. First i give all leather a go, and some hours later, i give it a go again and let it be over night. Next day, i wipe everything with a lint free cloth and make sure i catch any residual oil. If some areas are locally more dry than others, you may give those areas attentions a few more times before you are satisfied..
Just keep in mind that if you have bright coloured leather, where colour is fading, the leather may go a little darker in those areas.
If you are in doubt of what to do.. also consult the "Wheicle care book"
