In the first picture, if that is of a XJR, it seems to close to the transmision bell housing, transmission temp is going to rise. NOT GOOD!!. Going to need a heat sink for that mod.

40 hp gain is nice. Would have liked to have seen a dyno with cats.

You will. That information will be available either today or tommorrow.

I'm glad to hear it!

Pretty sure you won't be putting the OEM cats back on so in the interests of accuracy please be sure to show the exact details of the cats fitted; brand, cell count, diameter of inlet/outlet and the diameter of the housing.

And of course pictures!

Is it just me or are these guys just great at missing deadlines. I mean I like what they post and when they post, but they either over-promise and under-deliver or their guy in charge of Forums/PR is just bad. I hope they are better at keeping their customers in the "loop" as to how long things realistically take.

In this case, I'm starting to think that after fitting in cats they had no gains to post?.

OK, I'm calling it...

Time of death 7:09 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012

BP's quest for posting header dynos still showing gains with street legal cats is now officially dead.....
...unless proven otherwise

This was always the risk, or at least relatively low gains, which could not justify the costs...hope we are wrong!

They have an update in the S type thread, which ironically doesn't have much in common fitment-wise. Completely different chassis and it would be only shear luck if the headers fit the S type.

What that post said was that they would post the results with cats tomorrow, but if past performance can predict future Buckhead performance, by tomorrow, they do not mean the next calendar day, so we still have no idea when they will post dyno gains with cats....

Besides that, they haven't answered the question yet why the base dyno of the catless version was about 40 hp down, thats just as important to get some creditibility on the dyno runs they make. Don't get me wrong, would also love to see good gains.

Agreed, the baseline run numbers must be justified, especially if they are on the lower side, to be credible.

But I think we will see a gain of certainly no more than 20 hp, if even that with the cats installed. Starting with a 40 hp gain without cats sets the absolute limit to 40 hp- losses from cats, so the dollars to hp ratio must start climbing...

Don't know, from what I have learned you need to size the length and id of the tubes very well for the application to get the gains, so it might work better for one setup then another. Am curious though at what is possible, so I hope they will answer the questions to come to more credible results, but it’s already 1 week since I have asked.

So what was the before dyno?

Therefore the gain with cats was?

jaguar original exhaust manifold: 306.7
buckhead headers without cats: 346.3
buckhead headers with cats: 339.7

headers gain with cats fitted: 33 horsepower, or about a 10.76% gain in horsepower
so basically the cats lost them about 6 horsepower, not bad. comparing cats and no cats, cats only cost them 1.91% decrease in power
