Arrow Brake light Flashes and turns off

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and ownership of an 2002 XJ8 Sport. My driver side tail light flashes and turns off when the brake pedal is pressed. I have swapped the bulbs from left to right just to check if it might be an amperage issue and even happens with the bulbs swapped. I have read a lot about the SLCM is the major cause for this happening and I reached out to an eBay lab that fixes the SLCM's and they responded that it is probably not an SLCM issue and could be a ground. I went over another vlog that shed some light on the wiring diagram and according to that, the left and the right have the same ground. Now I am new to this car and have no idea what could be a possible problem. If anyone can shed some light I will be grateful..

Welcome to the forums Mansehra,

I've moved your question from the US Northeast Region forum to X308 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. Unplug the connector going to the light fixture and exam the prongs on the connector. The far outboard prong is the ground. Is it showing distortion, overheating or any damage? The one small connector tends to overheat since it provides ground for all of the lamps. If it shows distortion you can gently form it back in shape to match the other prongs.
