Default brakes advice

The brakes on my '99 XJR have not felt right since I bought it a few months ago. Im finally going to get around to inspecting them and replacing anything that needs it. The cost of genuine Jag parts (rotors) is ridiculous in my opinion ($800 for a pair of front rotors ?) I have seen some Brembo rotors for much less and they are a name I know. Any reason not to use these cheaper rotors that anyone is aware of ?

For pads I was going to use RedStuff. Anyone know of any reason not to, or can recommend an alternative ?

Thanks in advance.......

Brembo makes the factory cross drilled pads. I've heard lots of good things about the Redstuff pads. Go for it!

Many thanks Ken. I haven't had time to research this properly yet, but I seem to remember there being an "ABS ring" or something required ? Is that something I have to check the rotors have ? Im probably completely wrong.

Thanks again

No. The ABS ring must be removed to replace the front wheel bearings. Not requiered in a rotor change.
