Remove the cowl (4 or 5 screws) to remove/install the replacement elbow.

You shouldn't have to replace the hose. Just remove the broken part of the elbow from inside the hose and then put that hose onto the new elbow.

Mine was the same way. I can't remember now how I got that piece out of the hose, either used some needle nose pliers or simply squeezed it out with my fingers.

Thank you, I will try that. Hopefully I won't break the hose. Thanks again really appreciate it.

putting the end with the part inside it in hot water will help to make things flexible, and reduce sticking.

FYI -- The hose often fails at the connector ... there is enough hose to cut off the end and reattach. Make sure that's not the case with yours -- with the shorter hose the wiper pulls on the connector with each wipe until the connector snaps.

Jaguar sells the hose -- my dealer had a few of them ... I think they charged me $10. The list is more and really .. it's just a length of hose. I think the OE may be HD hose .. but I'm sure you can find some for less.

Default Cowl Removal

When removing the cowl, please be aware there are small metal washers underside of where the screws attaché. They may have been glued on 17 years ago, but may not be anymore. Or are still stuck on when you remove the cowl, and subsequently make a break for freedom.
The cowl is not thick or strong enough to be clamped by screw alone if the backing washer is missing, it'll keep deflecting as you tighten.
