I have a 98 XJ8-L. Towards the end of last summer the A/C (Compressor) would come on sometimes, and sometimes it would not. Eventually it quit coming on at all. At first, I could press the A/C button on and off, and eventually it would come on, but I am not sure if that really had anything to do with it at all. Now, I can't seem to get it to come on at all. When it does work....the A/C is very cold and has no problems at all. Other than that the climate control works perfectly. Could this be a relay? If so, where are the relays located? Any help would be great. Also, I did try to hook up a can of R-134-A , just in case it may have been low, but the compressor would not even come on after I hooked it up. I really don't think it is a refridgerant problem.
