can auto lock be disabled on a 98 xjr

 

The autolock is a function of the BPM Body Process Module. It can be disabled but dealer level software to access the BPM is required. The the feature can be shut off.

just curious, but what's auto lock? Does auto lock mean that the car locks itself after a while when parked? Or auto lock = locking doors when starting the car and setting off?

auto locks the doors when put in gear

 

Drive Away Door Locking ENABLE/DISABLE is in the Convenience Features section of setup and configuration.

There is a list of things that can be selected to ENABLE/DISABLE.

I have 3 WDS units and a VCM with IDS software. I am not a dealer but I spent the money to have the correct diagnostic equipment. I still repair cars even though I no longer work at the Jaguar dealer.

I suggest you find someone like me that has the equipment. Probably less expensive than the dealer.

Many independent repair shops that specialize in Jaguar/Rover will have this type of equipment.
