Can Emmissions Purge Valve cause oil in air filter?
I recently purchased a 1999 x308 v8 4.0. Prevoous owner said oil in airfilter started all of a sudden 2 weeks prior. Engine smooth , has power and dosnt blow smoke.
Is it possible that a blocked or faulty Emmissions purge valve may cause higher crankcase pressure resulting in oil in air filter?
Where /how do i check this is not the case.?
FIrst i checked the Full and part load breather tube, orifice looks clean. I will be replacing the part load breather this week to make sure its not blocked internally.
I did notice and fixed crack in the ante-resonance ext on the air intake tunnel, no change.
advice appreciated.
best regards
Peter
