Default Can radiator on 98 XJ8 be repaired?

Bounced over a curb that I didn't see, and cracked the plastic tank (about an inch long on the bottom). Can this be repaired, unable to find the plastic part itself. No other damage.

A picture of the damage might help.

Otherwise I’d use Marine-Tex or JBWeld and wait 24 hours before filling with coolant.

Locate a used radiator.

Tried JB Weld, didn't work but I only let it set for 2 hours. Will take picture later.

If you set it where it’s still wet with coolant, it’ll never work. To do it properly, you really need to pull the radiator out, that way you can rinse the area off with water, dry it off either with compressed air or maybe a blow dryer. After that, you need to carefully remove the old epoxy, blow it off, hand sand about an inch above and below the damaged area throughly, blow it off again and apply epoxy the entire sanded area. Let it sit undisturbed for 24 hours minimum in a warm, dry area.

Aatlas wrecking yard has 3 of them for cheap. You need to call them to get a used radiator.

My local Pick Your Parts charges something like $60, and you can even buy a warranty!

Default Update on radiator repair

Since I would have had to remove the radiator to properly repair the plastic end cap where it was cracked, I bought a used one for $70. Best part was that I was able to remove old one and install the replacement without having to disconnect the AC lines or evacuate the system. A little tricky, but possible. While at the junkyard, I also bought the wood rimmed steering wheel, front and rear seats, 6x9 "subwoofer" and amp from the same Vanden Plas. Didn't need the seats, but much too nice to pass up. Would like to find XJR wheels as long as it's turning into a mutt anyway.

Parts picking at a well run junkyard is always fun.
