the metal exhaust hanger that is welded to the muffler over the passenger side IRS area
has broken and needs to be rewelded. Seems car was in an accident many years go and it snapped.
Can this exhaust section be removed through the IRS cage in situ so I can reweld?
Yes, you just need to raise the car high enough so that the exhaust can be rotated to clear the suspension, if you're doing the job on jackstands you might need to raise them near their limit.
I put in a cat-back system about a month ago. You'll need to get the bottom of the rear bumper 36 inches from the floor and remove the half shafts from the diff. I was able to hook those on the roll bar so they're out of the way.
