I have no idea what you mean, but if you only want to exchange the secondary tensioner (the top one), then yes, you can do it in the same way.

PS, you can edit change your original post by clicking on EDIT, I believe without a 1/2hr or so.

The secondary tensioner on the right side is giving me problems.
After I had unbolted the pulley using the crossbar special-tool, I couldnt get it over the camshaft. The chain was too tight to get the tensioner out.
So I rebolted the pulley to go the zip-tie way.
Here I used a feeler-gauge to find the spot with no pressure on the camshaft. The best I could do was to get a position where the feeler went in between at cams 2 and 4 but 1 and 3 were too tight for a 0.5mm feeler. All tappets seemed to stick out evenly. So is that good enough?
Or is there something I could do to get the tensioner out using the crossbar, which I would prefer?

I am still not sure what you are exactly meaning, but as I mentioned before, the left tensioner seems to have a bit more wiggle room than the right one, perhaps due to slightly different design for each side.

I have read that you can de-pressurize them by pushing the check-valve fitted in the tensioner's housing, but did not do that.
You might give that a try first.

And on the camshaft, sounds you are OK on the position, just tight them back up carefully, in cycles, a bit at a time.

So where did things go? I finally went for changing all of the tensioners and chains as keeping the jumped chain seemed to be too much of a risk.
As it turned out, the primary chains and tensioners were still perfect. The chain guides hardly had any visible wear.
Both upper tensioners had a split in the plastic. That made me think if it couldn't be a heat problem that leads to the failure of the upper tensioners.
Getting the crank pulley off was a real challenge. I didn't have the special tool.
I used two Mercedes car-jacks which I had slightly modified to fit into the pulley slots. One jack wasn't enough, it would bend.
