Default Window Glass Cleaning Question

Hey folks. So, I bought this 2002 X-Type and on the inside of the wind sheild on the drivers side (US Car) the previous owner had stuck some velcro strips (2) way up by the vent...almost to where your hands won't fit in any farther but just barely. Have no idea what for...maybe to hold a cellphone mount or something but regardless it looks like crap and I wanted them gone.

So, I first got a plastic scraper and got the majority of the material off but left behind was the sticky residue. So I laid a rag over the dash so nothing would drip on it and I used a small rag soaked in "goof off" and started soaking and rubbing. Well, by the time I got done it was a huge mess. It looked like my glass had been smeared with a turd and it was horrible. Looked like a big circle of crap had been smeared all over the place.

So then I hit it with wd40 and that cut a little more but not very much. As a last resort I hit it with nail polish remover and that did the best job however there is still a circle of residue left and it looks like crapola!!!! LOL

Any ideas how to get the rest of this off and have my front wind shield look like it should?

Thanks

peace out,
daddylogan

Default This stuff worked!

Went to a car glass shop and asked what they use. Not only did they get the gunk off the window in seconds, they gave me a can of what they use!!! It is called "Quick Release Agent" and it works!!! I have attached a picture of what the can looks like. You can't buy it over the counter. You must get it from a shop...from what they told me.

peace out,
daddylogan

Acetone, available at any home improvement store in the paint department.

The Acetone simply eats away the adhesive from velcro, tape etc.
