Default Central locking Issues

Hi

Just got this new niggle. I always lock and unlock my Jag with the key in the door and a couple of days ago I locked my car with the key in the drivers door and the car 'bleeped' I don't know why as it has never done that before, I tried all the doors and the boot to make sure they were all shut properly, tried again and the same 'bleep'. The car still locks all the doors but when I unlock with the key, I no longer have to put my key in the ignition within 7 seconds.

Any ideas??

Tried looking it up but when I bought it I was missing the security system handbook!

Many thanks

Does it chirp when unlocking as well? I think one chirp is locked and two is unlocked.

What happens if you don't put the key in the ignition within seven seconds normally?

The one beep says the car alarm is armed.
There is no Sound when you unlock it.
