Glad to read that so far she is good.
What I don't really understand is how you consider a larger pad easier to conceal than a phone .

If I use my phone as a monitor (and mostly then also play music from it), I have it in a fixed cradle, which fits with a suction cup on the side of the shifter.
That makes it fixed to the car, is even that illegal in the UK?

Maybe a wifi elm327 would work. Costs more than the usual elm327 but that's Apple for ya.

I'll be getting something good when I have a bit of spare cash available, but at the moment I've got to make do with what I have. My old employer seems to have pulled a fast one and ripped me off with my last pay check, so need to watch the pennies for the next couple of weeks.

I drove the car around a bit yesterday, first time she's started since last Monday and all was well. She drove nicely, no light or restricted performance as of yet. I'm taking the car for a little run later I think, the more miles I can get the better.

I think I may have caught the codes, I fitted the MAF sensor from my old 4.0 car as Eric suggested and so far nothing has come back.

Thanks for the help and input given on this issue.

Hope that got for you. As for mine, I cleaned the MAF, and checked vacuum lines(one was slightly off) cleaned MAF, re-did the hose, was fine for a short time but came back. (hope this does not happen to you), So decided to do a smoke test(bought a home made smoke can on Ebay, was a bit to lazy to do it myself LOL) and sure enough, manifold gasket leak. Don't have the manifold back on yet because in the process I decided to change the Heater hoses that run under the intake in the V, and then decide I might as well change the two small coolant hoses that are behind the manifold, ones that connect to throttle body. figure get them now or tear it apart again if the get a leak. a little preventive maintenance now will prevent future headache.
Good luck on yours
