Cigar lighters

1999 XJ8 VANDEN PLAS

When I purchased it, the seller told me that
I'm not a smoker but I would like to charge my cell phone or my gps without having to charge the latter in my Jetta!
I presume this is a fuse, or maybe a bigger problem if they all aren't working.

The fuse is certainly the first place to look. Here is a link to a fuse chart if you do not have one. It is for the XK8/R but I suspect that it applies to your car also.

In your car, Cigar Socket is listed as Fuse #5 in the Trunk.

Accessory Sockets are listed as #17 in Left Hand Heelboard and #11 in Trunk. Not sure if these apply, but thought I'd list them in case.

Also, in the Trunk is Relay #R6 listed for the Accessory Sockets.
