cigarette lighter socket not working with cellphone charger
I have a 2000 XJ8 L. The cigarette lighter works with the lighter element. Does not work with cell phone charger, or GPS. Any ideas?

If the light socket works with the lighter but not with a USB charging insert, my first guess would be to
get a different USB charging unit and try that. Make sure you are pushing it down in the socket all the way.

I had the same problem on my ‘01 VDP and my ‘06 XK8. I don’t use the cigar lighter, so I installed a USB charging port in its place.
