Coils, coils

Coils, coils
I thought I should post this experience since it might help someone else. I had a P0352 and a P0302 and restricted performance. So, I do the recommended thing, I swapped number 2 coil with number 6. Clear codes, no codes come back. I scratch my head and figure I'll order another coil just in case and see what happens. A couple of months later, same codes. I take out coil #2 and it is partially melted on top. It looked obviously bad, so I swapped in new (used) coil I had. Problem disappears for another couple of months, then it's back. Scratch head, ordered another coil. The I figured what the heck, I'll take a look at it. So I removed the coil and it looked fine. Put car back together and problem has disappeared again. So, now I finaly caught on - bad connection/connector. So yesterday I took out all the coils, cleaned then and connectors with electrical cleaner and Q-tips as well as I could, and now car seems to run as good as it ever has. I went ahead and cleaned the MAF and throttle body whie I was at it. So now I have a spare new coil. A little TLC goes a long way on these cars. I can only imagine what a dealer would have made off me.
