Coolant hoses blowing off
I have a 2000xj8...i posted a few months back havnt gotten back to it but i did change out my thermostat to start...so the problem...Randomly i will be driving and when i park the car sometimes my hose from the coolant reservoir to the radiator blows off thus leaking coolant everywhere...i thought maybe it was my thermostat sticking...someone mentioned something about the fan inside that creates circulation sometimes going back becuz its plastic...now i did notice that when this happens and i refill the reservoir it doesnt circulate immediately it takes a few minutes sometimes pushing the coolant back out so im guessing its this...2nd problem how do i change the propeller inside??
It still sounds like a sticking Thermostat although the Water Pump (the plastic impeller in this is what you will have read about) could be faulty.
Be very careful with overheating the V8 as it can quickly cause serious damage. The temperature gauge gives no warning until it's too late.

No, not difficult at all. You do not have to remove the fans. I think you will find instructions in the How To section, either on this forum or the XK8 forum, or at Gus's site jagrepair.com.

When you fitted the new Thermostat, did you make sure the 'giggle' pin (arrowed in the drawing below) was at the top:

This allows air to bleed.
When changing the Water Pump, take care not to spill coolant on the Serpentine Belt.
Many of us have regretted not taking the belt off for this job because they start to squeal once they've had coolant on them.

How are you blowing that plastic pipe off? It has a lock and unless the lock is broken or half the nipple( common, there should be 2 orings on the nipple)
that giggle pin, i snap them off, they make air pockets hard to remove and pressure surges in the system that can work loose hoses like the one that commonly blows off....the lower hose from the housing t stat cover to the radiator. If this is a problem, replace the cover and the lower hose. The barbs on the cover are often smoothed down too much and the hose not as soft as new so it wont grip well.

yes its that hose from therm housing to bottom it has clamp on it but the pressure builds and blows the hose off...the cap is fine i checked and yes i didnt fit the therm like the picture shows i used the same picture wen i put it in...ill try and replace the hoses but i feel like it something to do with the reservoir or somthing inside of it
