Coolant Low light Only When Running A/C?
I have a 2001 XJ8. Recently it began dispalying the Low Coolant light. I checked it cold, it's full.
Now, when it pops on, if I run the heat up to High, the light goes out. And I get a faint smell of coolant in the car. I can tell more so when it seems to get into my clothes at high temp setting. But I am not seeing any film or smoke as normal when heater cores have gone on me before.
The temp indicatior never moves but that means nothing from what i understand.
Is this a bleeding issue or maybe a slow death on the heater core? It cools like crazy the A/C in this car is awesome and the heat works fine as well.
Any suggestions would help.

kurbs, try putting your A/C system on recirc and see if you still smell coolant when you have a temp selected that will require a mix of hot and cool air. If you do, then that will confirm a bad heater core. If you don't, then that tells me that you have a coolant leak in the engine bay and you are simply smelling the coolant coming in to the car from the outside air.
