coolant seeping
A few days ago while checking a dash message to "check rear lights" I saw steam exiting the hood on the driver's side. The car was running at idle maybe 15 minutes. It was the vertical hose to the bottom of the surge tank. It was wet where the hose meets the tank. Today I slid down the spring clamp and installed a new screw type clamp. I'll keep an eye on it for the next few days. I have a replacement hose and surge tank to swap out if necc. Are the temp gauges somewhat accurate? My previous XK8 was said to be very inaccurate. The gauge never moves it stays at half ( A/C on) and it's 103 here this week.

No the temp gauges are very inefficient, by the time they read a problematic temp it is usually too late. Our very own forum member has upgraded the gauge with this kit.
