Default Crashed XJR

I created a four-car pile up this week when an Altima for unknown reasons really stopped his car in front of me during my morning commute. I hit him, the Jetta behind me stopped in time but the XTerra behind her really came in hard, and smashed her into me. The last I knew we were traveling about 35 mph and I had hauled the car down quite a bit before the impact.

The XJR had front and rear damage including a broken radiator, crumpled hood, headlights all messed-up-looking, etc. The rear had broken tail light, dragging exhaust pipe and a curious crease on the quarter panel above the rear wheel that makes the back door difficult to open and close (probably a crumple zone effect). No air bags deployed.

Preliminary repair estimate is $9000. They might repair the car since two insurance companies will be paying for front and rear damage separately.

Sorry to hear about this, it really is an awful feeling to be left wondering about the future of your car after an accident.

As a Professional Driver I am forever saying to others: "Not only do you need to watch what yourself is doing, but it's the others around you also. You have to assume everyone on the road is a fool and you have to anticipate the mistakes they can and will do."

However in your circumstance that rule doesn't apply, because from the sounds of it the Altima has really dropped his anchors hard. It could be an insurance scam though, don't rule that out!

I try to drive as if the guy in front of me is looking for me to buy him a new car. 2 cars back though, tough to avoid.
As an owner of the exact same car and color, it pains me to look at your pictures. (but, if your not going to be using that right front turn signal lens anymore...)
Seriously, Good luck!

I ride Motorcycles too, so I always hope that I ONLY get hit while driving my JAG. The Jags that I've seen crashed seem to do a decent job of protecting the occupants.
