I am a slow-moving OAP from High Wycombe, Bucks, UK, whose love for Jaguars started some 45 years ago with a Midnight Blue 1967 E-type (see below). I have a Carnival Red XKR (soon going to my brother) and now drive a Daimler Super V8 re-imported from Japan (see below)

My journey with the Daimler so far has consisted of replacing the original Alpine stereo completely (head unit, amp, CD player, loudspeakers etc) with a T’Eyes CC3L Android head unit with a 7”screen and an 'IN-PHASE IPA 9704D' main amplifier developing 4 x 130W RMS..

The existing 20 year old loudspeakers I replaced with four sets of 'IN-PHASE XTC6CX’ tweeters and woofers with passive crossovers throughout, plus a dedicated subwoofer with built-in amp tucked away under the front passenger seat.

The new set up allows me to load Spotify, with all my playlist content downloaded to the car and updated with any changes by WIFI whenever I am in range parked up at home. With the head unit comes a sophisticated digital sound-processing application with all the modern settings and adjustments to tailor the music to your set up and personal preference.

The head unit also gives me my pick of Sat Nav apps, access to the internet, and a reversing camera displaying on the screen (when in reverse) with front & rear parking sensors and a OBDII feed supplying live data on the car’s performance.

In the place of the rear view mirror, I have added a video camera display, which also provides looped front and rear dashcam recording which automatically saves and prevents overwriting if it senses a collision.

To facilitate the installation and to reduce the amount of spurious error codes the X308 throws up if it senses a low voltage, I fitted a more powerful battery, a Bosch AGM S5 015 with 110Ah and 950 Cold Cranking Amps, supplied by Tayna Batteries, UK. To this monstrous unit I added a simple battery isolation switch so that I could cut the power from the battery without disconnecting it whenever working on the car.

In the boot, I added a Noco Genius 5 battery maintenance and trickle charger, permanently hard-wired to the battery with a weatherproof mains input socket located in the rear valance so that it is straightforward to plug in, without having to open and fumble in the boot when I come home. This intelligent charger can be left permanently connected, keeping the battery in optimum condition without any danger of overcharging or damaging the battery.

To the bonnet, I have at long last been able to add a (pedestrian-safe) leaper, some bespoke badges to the front grill, Chrome GB to the rear, chrome bezels to the dash gauges, quad tips to the OEM exhausts with wider rear valance clearance, 20mm hub-centric wheel spacers to the rear axle and UK-legal tints to the windows. At 68k miles I have just had the transmission oil & filter changed, the undercarriage professionally cleaned, anti-rusted and protected, and a UK 433MHz security module and fobs fitted. I have modified the fog lights with LED lamps and halo rings wired to act as DRL (whilst retaining normal fog light switching as well). All dashboard lamps I upgraded to LED, the reversing lights to super bright LED lamps and the unlit amber side reflectors converted to LED indicator repeater lamps.

Next on the to-do list is the Secondary Timing Chain Tensioners & waterpump upgrade, Valley hose replacement with coolant change, supercharger pulley upgrade and supercharge oil change.. I have refurbished the steering wheel but I want to clean and nourish all the leather throughout and do a full body paint correction with ceramic coating.. That should keep me out of mischief this summer...

I need to say it: that green is stunning. What is the name?

Congrats on the car.
