Hi, the CD player in the trunk of my '98 XJ8 VDP does not play very well anymore. songs are constantly stopped and sometimes they come back on and other times i just give up and switch over to FM radio. I found that popping the six CD changer out and putting it back in used to fix the problem but this quick fix doesn;t seem to be as effective anymore. i thought the problem might happen just when i'm driving particularly over rough roads but other day it happened while idling. is it just a matter of cleaning the unit and if so how is that done. i'm thinking of putting a vacuum to the player unit that the changer slides into to see if that might help it. I removed the changer and all the discs and cleaned it with no improvement.
