Don't Forget the Seals!
I have been rebuilding my '98 XJ8 that I bought with a broken right bank exhaust timing chain. Lucky for me there was no piston/valve contact. I changed the front timing chains and water pump, but had a water leak that gave me fits! Couldn't find the source, but the drip came from above the tyranny, so I figured the spider hose was shot. Nope. Turned out to be the seal (oring) between the original thermostat tower and the front distribution pipe. I never found the replacement in my kits, and put the old one back in. MISTAKE! Don't waste time on used seals, gaskets, & Owings. Not worth it!!
