door lock issues

door lock issues
98 XJR -- driver door is stuck in lock and cannot be opened. If I manually pull up the lock tab the door will still not open.
Good old jaguar -- pretty embarrassing last night when I pulled up to the party, and then had to crawl out of the passenger side to get out. Graceful indeed.
I'm wondering if anyone has any helpful tips before I go through the trouble of removing my interior door panel.
