Here's Blue_XJ8 again ;-) While I still need to address my (no) cabin heating problem (flush core), and my "restricted performance" issue (replace knock sensor on bank 2), I have a new item on my list: driver's door no longer locks.

Out of the blue, a few weeks ago, my (driver's) door decided to stay open when using the remote to lock. All other doors lock/unlock normally, and alarm gets activated as expected (I have already shared its melody a few times with my neighbors as I forget the alarm is set, while my door is open). The interior "lock/unlock" button on dash no longer responds either (nothing happens). Only way to open centralized lock for all (other) doors is to manually pull the "lock" on passenger's side door or open passenger's side door (did not try rear doors).

Before I take apart the door panel to access what ever I need to access (still tbd), any ideas / suggestions?

The drivers door lock actuator is dead. There's a small chance you can fix it. Remove it, disassemble (it is glued, but you can tear it), check switches inside. If the switches are ok, then check the small white plastic piece, which moves an arm up and down, it may be broken.
But it's better to replace an actuator.
