Default Driver door will not open…..

Hi again,

Still no heat in my car but now the driver door will not open. I have pulled the door panel back and can see the cable still attached. It is a new cable I installed about a year ago. Has it stretched maybe?
Any ideas on how to open the door?

I remember my first test drive of the Duchess and still remember my experience trying to open the door.
On most cars, pulling the handle just a bit releases the mechanism and the door opens, but it soon became
apparent that with the Jaguar you had to pull the handle all the way toward you to get the latch to release.
Your situation may require the use of a needle nose to pull the cable so you can get in there and adjust it
so it will open for you.

One thing I have done is reset the lock by getting outside of the door and using the key to lock/unlock/lock again the door with the ignition key. One of the nice features on the car allows you to lock and unlock the car by inserting a key into the door when the remote doesnt work. Windows and sunroof are controlled too. I find that will get a stuck lock to properly pop up for a while -- several door openings -- before I have to do it again.

Sounds like a case for Mr. WD40 to be sprayed into the locking mechanism.

I'm still trying to figure out at what point in/on the locking mechanism is exactly that you have sprayed the WD-40, because it is very difficult to see anything in there, even with the door card removed.
Have you by any chance removed the locking mechanism from the car in order to apply the WD-40 lubricating spray?
Please, let me know as I'm still having to open my window in order to open the door from outside every time I get out of the car.
Thank you!
