1998 XJR I have a strange anomaly with the driver side door. The window functions fine 3 times, 4th time it will not operate properly. Disconnect the battery and it works again for 3 more times. Not sure which module to check, I have already replaced driver door module and switch for other issue.
The sunroof opens and closes but will not stay in any open position. It opens for 20 seconds the closes, remotes don't seem to activate all they are supposed to either.

 

What is the condition of your battery? This is the #1 culprit with electrical issues. For your driver window, are these consecutive attempts to move the window or random attempts?
Be sure to check your battery cables for any corrosion. If there is any, replace the cable(s), you will not get the corrosion out of it and it will starve the electronics calling for power.
