Has anybody any real/good experience or information on replacing or repairing the drivers seat?
My '98 has a pretty good crack in the front bolster portion, as well as a fair amount of wear around the perimeter of the remainder. Also, the foam is worn down on the left rear of the seat- not that it is a problem, but it doesn't look real nice.
I have several leather shops within fairly reasonable reach here in Tennessee, but most of them want me to remove the seat or at least the leather cover to get it repaired.
My Suburban is just about out for the count, and I can't go without something drivable, so I don't want to just take the seat out for the next two weeks...can I remove the cover and have this repaired?

 

Removing the cover is a lot of work, there are a lot of hog clips to contend with and wiring to be careful of. Removing the seat is easy though, would you not be able to find one in better condition on ebay perhaps?
