when i brake the front end feels loose, the engine moves up and then drops. why?

 

Worn engine mounts? They tend to fail on these cars as they age.

 

+1 on engine mounts. Does it knock from the front when you go over a bump?

Its interesting how cars are driven much differently in Europe than the USA. It's blasphemy to go over a curb in a XJ in the USA. Using a Jag to tow would raise a LOT of eyebrows too. Dirt road? Not happening either. This is even more true in southern cities or california where there are new highways, wide streets and little to no snow.

 

Hence the other car. But we don't take the Jeep to weddings or the symphony, either.
