Went to check my oil tonight and found blackened oil on the dipstick that smelled pretty heavily of gas. What could be the cause and the solution?

Engine had a blown head gasket not long ago which was repaired/replaced including all new seals and rings. Possible they weren't installed correctly?

It would be interesting to know how the car is idling and running. Sounds like some of the injectors are not spraying cleanly but spitting raw gasoline. Maybe a cleanup with Gumout or Lucas. Oh, and change the oil.

An OBD reader that can shows some details would be useful.

 

Do not run the engine again till the oil has been changed. There is the possibility of wiping out the crank bearings.
