Default Engine stalling when moving from park to drive or reverse

Hi, I have a 1998 Xj8 4.0L having just changed the automatic box I now find that intermittently it stalls when going from park or neutral into drive or reverse, has anyone come across this problem and know the answer ? Just hoping it does not involve another box removal.

Default stalling

It may be a problem with the idle control on the throttle body, or the throttle blade could be sticking because the TB needs cleaning. Or oil/bad contact in gearbox electrical connector.

If it were mine, I would clean the engine strap ground and the starter motor ground then start. If that starter ground is poor it will cause your car to run like ****. If the does work take the intake off and clean the MAF with CRC then blow it clean with air and repeat. Take the ( I think four electrical connections) and lightly sand the male connectors and apply dielectric grease. If that does work take a look at the passenger side condition of your coil packs, you could have a valve cover leak into your boots. No oil then probably an intake leak IMO?
