Extreme camber remedy for XJR
I have an '03 XJR that has no reason for extreme negative front camber other that "slightly" sagged springs.(about 10mm) There is nothing bent and I just replaced the lower ball joints (2 mm slop) and checked the upper joints (tight) and replaced upper and lower control arm bushings with urethane. I even slotted the adjustment holes (inward) for the camber adjustment bolts to move inward more and ground the eccentrics on the small lobe and welded extra metal to the high lobe to make the adjusters pull in another 2~3 mm. Still .5 degrees negative! I'm thinking of cutting the welds where the adjuster "channels" (small channel eccentrics set in) are welded to the engine craddle tabs and then moving the adjustment channels toward the center of the car about 2~3 mm and re-welding them. I own an auto repair company and have no problem doing this, but.... Has anyone else done something similar and did it change the geometry beyond adjustment for caster? I like the way the car handles with the springs as they are and choose to address the issue with adjustability. I've researched this issue on various forums and see a lot of great advice, just not what I need. Thanks for any input
