Default Finally!!! A parts car!!

I have finally located and secured purchase of a 99 xj8 Vandenplas for parts. Same color as my black xj8. Perfect condition just had electrical issues and throttle body and fuel issue. Got it dirt cheap! Nice project or summer! Upgraded interior and better dent free fenders and trunk! Immso excited I had to share!

I'm about to do just the opposite Meaning - part my current Jag and buy a VDP for a winter project heh

Wish you luck with the cat. If it's not a secret - can you tell my how much did you paid for the VDP in this condition?

it has a certificate of destruction and I'm told can't be registered. Guy says that fuel pump is bad and it was having some electrical issues and TPS problems but did run. I was thinking about the same thing...using that as the good car...but not really sure how to change the title and not sure on how much mileage but looks great. Now yall sit down for this lol...I paid a thousand bucks for it US dollas and have to drive 3.5 hours one wayy to get it but I'd have drove 6 one way lol. It's dark green with the tan colored interior and red piping on the seats. Has the picnic trays intact and wood steering wheel and shifter. I'm excited. If I could figure out how to make this the daily driver and part mine out...Ima do it. I have friends in the Title office lol.

Well one of the illegal ways to do it is to use your current plates and registration and move it to the new one. The problems you'll have are two:
- The color of the if the one of your current car is different from dark green;
- The VIN...

Both can be changed, of course... First of all - there is, as much as I remember, 3 places where the VIN can be checked. So if you just cut and move those parts from your current car chassis and replace them on the new VDP and then paint the entire car, there should be no problems with authorities Well - it's illegal... but after all - nobody will notice it! Personally I wouldn't go on such step as it's too risky... but it's good to know that you have a choice

In Florida, we think that there is more freedom for car registration as we seen on TV some guys making cars from scrap and driving on the streets, so probably if the car will pass an inspection you can use it.

I would be more than happy If any forum member from Europe can help me finding a LHD donor car or scrapyard for my future conversion plans.

Well called a friend in the DMV and once it's given a certificate of destruction that means the insurance company has paid it off from damage and it is removed forever from road use. So ill have to just see what I can do about the parts Lol

I know in South Carolina we can take a Salvage title and get it changed to a Salvage Rebuilt title.

I am going to have to figure this out within the next week.

I have good throttle body thanks to my sometimes sketchy diagnostic skills.
send me an e-mail through the forum if it interests you.
